End of the ‘Age of Voters’

I remember, during one election, my father returned from polling booth. I recently had become politically enthu. My mom & I kept asking him that which party did he vote too. He said this is called ‘gupt matdaan’ which means the vote is kept secret and hence why should he share with us that which party did he vote to. We guessed that perhaps he voted BJP dude but we never became sure where did his vote go. When he was politically active, he had friends in all major parties. Most of the times, 2-3 candidates used to be his friends, even the independent ones. During elections, we always had visit from all of candidates multiple times. His friend candidates would stay at home, even those from major parties. He sometimes accompanied their caravan and when he did, he did for all of them. We always had a big box of election campaign materials at home – flags, docs, banners, pamphlets, etc. Sometimes, in childhood, I would like some of flags and would intend to put the flag in house. He always scolded me and never let me do so. I have been very close to my father and I can tell you most of things about his political, social, religious views BUT I can’t tell you which party did he vote to in which election due to the clout, confusion & secrecy he created. I compare that to now, the people of today, here on twitter and elsewhere. Everything is so widely known that you can bet on your life that which party will 1 vote to. You know it about every1 via themselves In a way, I guess, the ‘age of voters’ is dead, ‘age of supporters’ is fading fast and we are now into the ‘age of political activists’ Everyone is an activist of one political party or politician. Only thing left is, perhaps, a valid membership of the party to verify it And people are not official members due to perhaps – either they don’t know how to become or they are too lazy to do that. Just that.

India in 2011 – The Top 20 Videos

Best of 2011

You may term 2011 as whichever kind of year you want to, but one thing we shall perhaps unanimously agree that it was an year of news. All kinds of news. News of things which happened, and also, on the other hand, few things which happened only for the sake of news. Paid and deliberately created news and also the organic news which surprisingly topped the chart. Some were pushed to us down our throats, some went viral because they were kept secrets. Some of the videos can be revered for the visuals, most for the audio and the genius in the voices. But, most of these were revelations, not with surprise but with sheer awe. Invaluable for showcasing the gigantic amount of genius with super entertainment values.

With this kind of list, I am not quite sure about the title this post has, a portion of which says ‘top 20’. We could rightfully use dozens of adjectives and their superlatives of these videos. In many cases, each of the videos can attract a separate superlative exclusively for itself. Excellent, WTF, genius, lame, stupid, idiotic, outrageous, entertaining, courageous, sad, anger, pathetic, hilarious, shameful, irritating, mindless, mindful(!), and so on. But, I took the simplest path available. Apologies if you decided otherwise.

So, forget all the lists of 2011 videos you came across by far and check this one out.

20. Kolaveri Di
This was the ‘most deliberate’ viral video ever, thus not a viral, and certainly broke all barriers of language and region. This video can be referenced as a marketing excellence in entertainment industry, nevertheless, this was totally lame and stupid. If you feel otherwise, fine, but I’ll still include this video in this list because it turned out to be too “irritating” in the end, even more than 10 Rakhi Saawants put together. Why? Because it became responsible for 100 of other versions of Kolaveri of all shapes and forms. Fuck, even in the Netherlands. And those videos were everywhere, each of them shared via social media by each of our friends.

Mi Vilasrao Deshmukh Boltoye!

Now, this one is really a classic case. Seemingly too much frustrated with the corruption and bribery in government offices, Sanjay Dhotadmal, a man in Pune, applied for ration card and got it issued in the name of Maharashtra’s CM Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh. After feeding 2000 bucks to the ration officer, it is indeed not a difficult task to get a ration card in the name of whosoever your choice is. IBN Live reports:

Sanjay had actually visited the office to get a copy of his original ration card which was in a poor condition. But when he was asked to pay up for it, he decided to expose the officials. “I wanted to test how sincere the officers were, so I gave Chief Ministers name,” says Sanjay.

And this is what the Divisional Commissioner of Pune Division had to say on this:

“Here something has gone wrong, because we have checked up with the card that has been issued, there has been exploitation of system, money has been paid therefore we have put two people under suspension,”

Such fun and WTFness! But, all the way, this is not something which should surprise us. Corruption is everywhere, at each place and almost everyone in the government offices is corrupt. What matters is the level of work and person who has to be sucked out by the babus. This is known to one and all. However, such cases come to the media only with the occurences of serious or humourous cases. For example, the bribery related with political ghotalas or something like passport of Abu Salem. But, in those cases, the client and moolah both are high and mighty.

Even Rs 2000 isn’t something cheaper bribe of sorts. I have seen policemen and panchayat sewaks asking for Rs 2-10. RPF jawans in Passenger trains or state police on the street markets or traffic police don’t ask for more than 10 Rs or so. This happens everyday, everywhere. And this is something which is very much impossible to curb. The ground-level corruption will always be inevitable.

Another WTF News: NRAI President Digvijay Singh slams shooters Abhinav Bindra and Jaspal Rana for not acknowledging the system’s contribution to their success. He said that the success of Bindra and Rana had been possible due to the system set up by the Indian shooting federation but it seems to have gone to their heads and their statements betray arrogance. Rights & Reservations: Wheels of Politics

Quota : quoted Again

The guy who invented the first wheel was an idiot. The guy who invented the other three, the man was genius. And here comes another genius – M. Veerappa Moily with some tremendous scientific ideas. His appearance in the most sacrosanct warfare was quite bright tending to prove himself the most genius guy of our times. The report of the oversight committee was the same, trying to justify all the actions, after such gang-ho created by UPA government and citizens over the quota cauldron. The HRD minister is still crying, vociferous but isolated, and few more committees have to be formulated in coming days. Vrinda Karat, Sitaram Yechury, and other communists are still protesting, don’t know why. Students are making alliances again and industry is celebrating the power of money. But, the brave man Moily submitted the report with numerous innovative paragraphs and its making HRD minister’s outcry louder than ever. The considerable point with Moily is that he doesn’t stop now and the most important point is that none seems to be finished when it comes to reservation. Everyone has an issue and counter-issue to produce and who is taking the decisions is still in the vague.

This is the second decade of Mandal and the debate and it doesn’t seem to be reached at any conclusion. After Kashmir and alike Kashmir, reservation has become the most working formula in this bloody business of our political avatars. Ramadoss duo quoted that the OBCs can’t wait now, they already have waited for 59 yearsin the same way Kashmir-related and Pak-supported terrorists quote everyday. Neither Kashmiris said it once nor the OBCs. The debate never landed in the mainstream that what exactly the people want. Uplifting is really an issue in our society and it certainly has to be taken care of. But, how will uplifting and the absolute social justice be achieved? Okay, we consider that the reservation can bring a sort of justice to the backward citizens however, neither it made any effect in the past 15 years nor it seems to do anything in the coming years. During my childhood, Id read somewhere that when Arjun Singh travels, more than 50 vehicles follow his car and in the same way, VP Singh’s constituency was one of the most undeveloped districts in the decade of 90s. This is what these social godfathers do for uplifting the non-privileged citizens of the country. What kind of change the whole reservation debate has brought to the society is visible to all. Everyone knows that the grass root is still not affected by all these developments.

According to Moily, Rs 20,000 crore (approx) — half is one-time expenditure and half of the money is recurring expenditure(to be spent every year)— will be spent in next 5 years to implement the new quota policy. I’m not an economist/social planner, but I can visualize that such amount of money could be well spent on the primary education of 35.2% illiterate people. They are busy in amending child labor law and they smartly overlook the reason behind it. Who need the education— the SC/ST/OBC people preparing for JEE/CAT in Aakash/Career launcher or the 10-15 yrs old children working on tea-stalls and leather factories. Rs. 20000 crore..for 5000 reserved students(every year) and as the statistics shows, half of them will move to US/UK who got uplifted after this whole cauldron India or US? Are we creating warfare for enhancing economy of silicon valley? As I think, India doesn’t need this solution. Rs. 20000 crore for IIT and IIM. How many students from tribal lands and rural places join these elite institutes? The child carrying cleaning cups and glasses at tea-stall or working in farms with their parents in borrowed lands.under-privileged people never get the absolute advantage. Rs. 20000 crore.Rs. 10000/year was well enough to educate one illiterate person in tribal/rural areas. I’ve observed that rural youth haven’t got lesser talents, they need mental uplifting and a sort of economical support. Spending Rs. 10000 per student could have become miracle for them. According to Moily’s report, few more committees will be set to analyze situations in IIMs and other elite institutes. In the rural primary schools, there is no CVC/committee appointed to ensure the operations of teachers/school inspectors/D.O. Few years before, education dept has hired some volunteers for random inquiries in primary/other schools.the teachers paid them better than the government and now, teachers appear in schools once in a week and the volunteers are doing the same thing as earlier, that is, playing cards. Rs. 20000 crore.and uplifting of under-privileged citizens, social justice, removal of “manuvadi” culture, and whole debate of education. Rs. 20000 crore.millions of Indian taxpayers and a team formed by Singh, Ramadoss, Moily, Karat, Yechuty, Meera, Paswan, and Yadav. Rs. 20000 crore.. awakened silence of more than 1 billion Indian citizens and exaggerated outcry of one minister. This is how we are getting social justice. This is how we are uplifting the under-privileged citizen. This is how we act like Zimbabwe/Fiji and speak like US/Swiss. This is how will we achieve the dream of India-2020.

Well, the final report is expected by August 31, but what to do with it. We already know what is going to happen after all. Before that, look at top 3 poor jokes of last week:-

  1. The committee decided to ask all individual institutions to submit their detailed project reports (DPRs) for infrastructure upgrade. (as if, they always listen to the voices made by them)
  2. According to the report, besides adopting a code of conduct, the industry will create 100 entrepreneurs from SCs/STs in the first year. (well, how will they do it?)

  3. It also proposes establishment of coaching centers for about 10,000 SC/ST students in 10 universities and also for entrance exams in professional and technical courses for 5,000 students. (hmm…justifying the amendment that leads to more chaos).

RTI : Loss of a right

The biggest joke of the last week is that former IRS Arvind Kejriwal won Magsaysay Award for his remarkable contribution in RTI. This was the biggest achievement for Kejriwaal and slap on the government’s face. Still not recovered from quota cauldron, the “empowered” citizens got another shock. Everyone is performing own power-game, earlier they were politicians and now they are bureaucrats. “Right to Information” was another equipment making the common man empowered in this chaotic situation of the nation. But, it was harassing our IAS lobby, making them weaker among the citizen power. It almost became a necessity to amend the law before the citizen could become enlightened and prevent autocracy and corruption. Here comes the absolute social justice. That means, empower the segment who will benefit you and call it social justice. Social Justice.the most ridiculous word in a democratic nation. After all, which authority will lose its patronage and who will want to become answerable for their action. This is power-business, bureaucrats kept their mouth shut in the reservation issue. Now its time for payback, the politicians will return for their loyalty. Who is going to take care of the citizens? The proposal contended for all such details related to personal information, the disclosure of which has no relationship to any public activity or interest, or which would cause unwarranted invasion of the piracy of the individual. In the case of Kejriwal’s demands, how the committee could even imagine that appointments to Government of India is a private affair of some officers and that it does not have a public interest. The rationale for government actions, the lack of actions, change in certain policy, allotment of certain contract, or why a sanction was withheld to prosecute a particular corrupt official, aren’t they matter of public interest or related to public welfare, after all? Okay, let the old men protest again and let Kejriwal’s career be finished. Delhi police has always been busy with controlling protests and strikes, let the government utilize their HR costs.

And the bigger than the biggest joke is that they(who are making amendments in RTI act) are the same people who asked private/public companies to make their HR activities transparent to the government and the whole nation. Over the issue of reservation in private sector, it was decided that the companies will volunteered support “under-privileged people empowerment” and recruit people from reserved categories more than earlier. At the same time, the organizations will provide all the details to the government..and the government, they are taking the opposite decision when it comes to the transparency in their own activities. What a joke!!!

Now, at least, one thing is confirmed. The politics and the authorities are in the greatest fear.afraid of the voters, afraid of the citizens, afraid of everything. All these events are just the consequences of the fears and their frustrationsand it gives the citizens more opportunity to increase the heat. What say!!!

Chalte Chalte

“The union government should not allow the unjust demand of anti-reservation people, who form 5-10% of the populations of India. They suggest phased implementation of reservation for OBCs, application of creamy layer concept and increase in the seats for general category. I am of the firm opinion that if these demands are accepted, it will amount to preferentially empowering the empowered, at the cost of oppressing the oppressed. It is strange that the creamy layer concept was not applied to the unreserved category till date these demands are entirely unconstitutional and unethical.” — M Karunanidhi, a letter to PM, Dated- Aug 4, Published – Aug 6.

Read his statement again..this is “the joke of the year”..totally ridiculous!!!

Why It Was Okay To Rape Indira Ishwarlal Thakur(Ms. IIT)?

Let me tell you a little story. It is a bit gruesome, but quite interesting nevertheless. And there is a moral too, in the end. If reading about the illtreatment of women and violence against them makes you feel funny in your intestines, then this post is definitely not for you. There was this unbelievably beautiful girl, Indira Ishwardas Thakur (You could call her Ms. IIT for the sake of convenience), who used to live in this pretty interesting locality called Indrakumar-Natwarlal-Durgadas International Avenue (you could INDIA, for the sake of convenience). I.N.D.I.A. was interesting because it was full of diversity. The people who lived there came from different sections of society, and there was nothing homogeneous about the place. There were some swanky malls and office-complexes located about the avenue, as were some less interesting places like tabelas and filthy fish-markets.

Ms. Indira Ishwarlal Thakur happened to be the most beautiful woman who lived in IND International Avenue, and half the male population of the locality wanted to be friends with her, or better still be something more than friends with her. Most of the local boys who used to get together for a chat or smoke, would somehow always talk about how great it would be to sleep with Indira. She was definitely every man’s fantasy.

Not only was Ms. IIT beautiful, she also happened to be one of the smartest and the most intelligent human beings who inhabited the locality. Being beautiful, intelligent and confident and a cut above the rest, Indira was quite understandably a bit choosy about the men she liked to fraternize with, or accept as lovers. She had very high-standards and was only known to accept the company of men she really liked. Men who were intelligent, men who were handsome, men who were witty, men who were capable, men whom Indira thought were really worth her.

Ms. IIT liked only five men in her locality, and was great friends with them. Nothing serious, really. Just the sugary goodness of a platonic friendship with each of them. A little bit of flirting was, of course, implied. These men were undoubtedly the coolest dudes who lived around the place and the smartest ones too. Their names were Mohan, Edwin, Rohit, Imitiyaz and Tarun (well, MERIT, for short). Ms. IIT very happy in the company of Messrs MERIT, and they got along like a house on fire.

This, of course, left a large sections of others males in the avenue frustrated and jealous. They didn’t like the fact that IIT was only friends with MERIT, and not with them. Forget being friends with them, she cared two hoots about them and wouldn’t even care to talk to them. “How dare that slut!”, thought the others. “Something should be done about it! Who does that whore think she is? Lets do something about it!”, rose a few voices.

Then there was this rather nasty gang of street-side thugs whom Indira hated. There were too many of them, actually. There was Ibrahim, there was Naresh, there was Chandru, there was Omar, there was Maqbul, there was Peter, there was Eijaz, there was Tony, there was Eric, there was Nagesh, there was Chetan, and Eric’s little brother Edward (Messrs INCOMPETENCE, to be short). The only thing these people ever thought of, when they were sufficiently drunk, was how to manage to get Indira laid. Messrs INCOMPETENCE went to a local gang leader and expressed their desires. The gang leader, who was the most demented of all the people, said it was okay to rape Indira, if they liked. They just had to make a clean job of it, and he would take care of the rest.

Buoyed by their Godfather’s assurances, the people whose names could be summarized with the acronym INCOMPETENCE hatched a nasty plan. They would first bump off the guys, and then tackle Ms. IIT. So they got into a couple of TATA Safaris, with half a dozen guns, a few baseball bats, knives, etc. and set out to action the plan.

Indira and the boys were having a quiet chat in a classy upmarket restaurant, when the rowdy crowd entered, brandishing their baseball bats and shiny pistols. Soon, they all overpowered Messrs MERIT and dragged them out of the restaurant, violently pushing Indira out after them. MERIT did put up a small fight, but they were simply overwhelmed by the numerical strength of INCOMPETENCE. Within a few minutes, MERIT’s game was up. Mohan and Rohit got their throats slit, Tarun had every bone in his body smashed to bits, Imtiyaz and Edwin were shot in their heads, with minimal fuss. INCOMPETENCE didn’t suffer much, except for a few scratches here and there. Soon, the dead bodies were dumped into a garbage bin and left to rot.

During the scuffle, Indira had tried to escape and managed to run a short distance, but she was soon caught up with by Maqbul and Peter, pushed to the ground and firmly held there, with Maqbul’s foot firmly pressed against her head. Soon, the rest of INCOMPETENCE arrived at the scene and proceeded to realise, what they had been able to hitherto only dream of. A couple of them violently slapped her across her face till her lips bled, just to get her to stop screaming and creating such a huge ruckus. Ibrahim and Omar ripped her clothes off, without further delay and then Maqbul pushed her down once again, this time with her back to the ground.

They all took turns mounting her, with one of them choking her neck and another firmly pressing her mouth shut, to stifle her groans. Young Edward amused himself by piercing Indira’s naked flesh with the knife which he was carrying, just to see how she bled. It was an interesting scene, actually: twelve men, a few of them with their pants pulled down, huddled over the body of a completely helpless, naked woman, as if the female body wasn’t alive, but just a mere toy with which they could play with.

While Messrs INCOMPETENCE were half done, a local social worker suddenly descended onto the scene. INCOMPETENCE just blankly stared at her – it was Anitatai Zopadpattiwale, a woman they held in high respect. They were afraid, she might not approve of what they had done, but she gave them a reassuring smile. Messrs INCOMPETENCE moved away from the body on the ground – yes, for all practical purposes it was just a body on the ground now. Anitatai knelt on the ground and ran her fingers through the semi-concious Indira’s hair. INCOMPETENCE had by now pulled up their pants and were eyeing Anitatai suspiciously.

“It is okay dear”, said Anita to Indira. “This was long since, coming – You ignored these people for such a long time, and you wouldn’t talk to them. Well, this was the only solution”. “But! These people are thugs! And they are raping me!”, said Indira. “So be it”, said Anita. “Isn’t it all justified – you ignored these men because you thought they weren’t good enough for you. You were friends with MERIT all along just because they were smart, all along. Could the INCOMPETENCE boys help it, if they weren’t smart? Could they control what parents they were born to? They are dumb, incompetent and good-for-nothing because they did not get the enivoronment which merit did?

“Do you ever realise” yelled Anita, “that for these people to be so lousy that you hated them, a historical wrong must have been perpetuated on them? You further aggravated the problem by judging them unfairly. And how are you sure that your method of judging men is the best method? In fact, it has always favored smarter men, without any concern for the needs of the helpless incompetent imbeciles.”

“Messrs MERIT are intelligent the way you want them to be, and have a way with words, the way you would like them to have, because they have been born into families which weren’t socially disadvantaged. They learnt the ropes, fairly quick, and developed intelligence and social skills which poor INCOMPETENCE didn’t. All INCOMPETENCE could do was sit and mope – and for no fault of their own. Isn’t it poetic justice that they should be allowed to rape you?”

“Doesn’t equality in society matter more than who’s better than whom? The balance was always unfairly tilted in the favor of you smart, resourceful, intelligent people – If only you had wholeheartedly embraced your undeserving co-residents. This would have not come to pass. The writing was on the wall all along. You should have known”

Indira was left dazed and speechless with all of this. Anitatai’s little speech stunned her more than than the half a dozen thugs, who had just raped her. This was surely an epiphanic moment – she understood.

Soon, the social worker walked off, and Indira let the rest of the thugs ravage her body without bothering to struggle.

Let me make something clear about that “weird article” and the Mandal-kamandal. If you look at the soul of that article, u will find what it takes as consequence after promoting and ignoring things related with this quota stuff. It’s shame that all the important and most-be-considered points are still left untouched by our psedu-socio-political “Mahanayaks”. How many times Mr. Arjun Singh has visited to the places or situations where the real under-privileged people are suffering. The main cause is nomore the social structure of the society, rather it is the game played by the so-called-rahnumas. It’s quite easy to decide their fates sitting in the AC offices of metro cities. Do they have cared abt the reality, still kept secret in the villages and forests of Chhotanagpur, North-east, Andhra, and many more.

We are raping (remember, watching crime itself is a crime) not only Ms IIT, but also past glory and future hopes of India. The souls and minds are being raped.who seems to take care of it? The number of brain-drain in the industry is increasing, rest of the talents are escaping outside, poverty, education, health, infrastructure, and all the basic requirements are facing ignorance by our authorities.

What is the solution? Imposing reservation and hiding the faces from the responsibilities and duties they had to accept making people in dilemma that whether it was for their welfare or not for more 5-10 years and when they realize it, propose one more agenda and the game will be continued and continued.

Guys, they are not just raping, they are making her a slut to be raped by everyone who wish to, and for the years they want to. Accept it, it’s not as weird as we often consider. And this is not enough and the ultimate consequence, more has to be happened in coming days as we go by the data that where it can be demanded, we see pandits in J&K, Biharis in Assam, Hindus in eastern districts of UP & Bihar, Lala(kaayasth), Buddhist & Jain in every state, Christians in every state except Kerala-Goa-Jharkhand, and so on. lol..I’m afraid that other politicians must be thinking on these statistics and on competing Arjun Singh to assure their next seats/chairs in parliament
